We stayed 5 days. The city center location was unbeatable. Hotel atmosphere has an old world 1920's Austrian charm with nice lobby and a living room/parlor that guests can use. Right in the heart of the best museums, Viennese shopping, and plenty of restaurants. The reception staff were knowledgeable about transportation, local customs, Vienna's tour spots, opera reservations, etc. and worked well as on-the-spot reservation agents. The rooms were nice, good value for the money, the toilets worked very well (compared to other place's "water saving" European toilets elsewhere which make for unpleasantness for Americans), and the included breakfast was substantial with a great selection. Would definitely return to Pertschy in future.
Beds were a bit firm, with no bedspring.

Great location, however facilities were very old.
Hotel was very old.
The location is wonderful -- very central to many sights as well as to restaurants, shopping, and transportation. The breakfast, included in the price, is delightful.
The pension is very central, the room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, ev erything you could wish for and the staff very friendly and helpful. Maybe appeals more to older travellers but it was great
Location, atmosphere, old-world charm, elegance. Friendly staff. We have stayed there many times before and always go back.
The passage leading to reception is a telling introduction of what to expect from the facillities at this hotel. It is run down and in need of a serious upgrade. The first room allocated to us faced the courtyard; it was cramped, stuffy, run down and also in dire need of an upgrade. Thanks to the assistance of one person we were eventually moved to another room which was much better. The hotel has an excellent location but is in dire need of a general upgrade
Spacious hotel room. Two sinks in bathroom which was very useful
The toilet was not close to the bathroom
The staff were friendly helpful and charming
My room - described as a large de-luxe single, was basically a converted corridor with an internal window onto a busy corridor, so for privacy I had to close the curtain. There was no fresh air available and the lighting was extremely dim. The whole feel of the space was rather grim. Compared to my friend's 'comfort ingle' room, which was light and airy with an opening window it was very poor value for the extra £60 I paid for my stay. His room also had a flat screen wall-mounted tv, while mine was a leviathan of an analogue monster - not important in that we didn't watch tv but hardly what you'd expect of a room described as de-luxe. I did try to take it up with the hotel but they said it was because my room measured 9 square metres! That was probably down to the walk-in cupboard, where I did not spend any of my time!
The location. The decor
This hotel bills itself as 4 star but offers no 4 star facilities. We stayed in 2 different rooms, both of which were very cramped. The first room we were given had large windows that opened on to a balcony that was the main access for a number of other rooms on that floor. As there was no air conditioning we had to leave the windows open which meant we were always in view of the other guests when we were in our room. The second room that we were given was better but overlooked a noisy street and the bathroom was so small that you had to step out into the bedroom to dry off. When we tried to check in (at 1400, the advertised time) we were were told our room was not ready but when we came back an hour later (as suggested) the same desk clerk did not even remember us. My attitude to this hotel might be different if it was a budget hotel but on a 7 week trip of Central Europe, staying in over a dozen hotels it was undoubtedly the worst and particularly the worst value for money.
The staff in general was warm, professional, and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, location perfect!
Hotel needs renovating badly.
Good breakfast and quite a nice location!
The price is only a bit less than the hotel in the centre of the city, but the breakfast is much better!
All the construction was problematic. Extreme fire hazard for having to unlock the egress exits.
location, the antique look and feel, breakfast
it being under construction. noise from street
Very friendly & helpful staff.
Unfortunately during my stay there was a lot of building work going on which was not advertised on the website. It did affect my stay when jack hammers woke me up.
